HOLY FAMILY and ST. VALBERT CATHOLIC CEMETERY RULES & REGULATIONS 

  1. All funeral processions must enter the cemetery through the entrance indicated by the cemetery sexton.
  2. After a funeral procession has entered the cemetery as specified above, it shall be under the absolute control of the sexton.
  3. All charges for the interment and burial permit must be presented to the sexton prior to internment.
  4. Any lot or space owner allowing a relative or friend to bury on their lot or space must furnish the cemetery sexton with written authorization prior to internment.
  5. All foundations for markers and headstones will be completed by or supervised by the cemetery sexton and the depth of said foundation will be determined by the sexton. The placing of additional monuments must be approved by the pastor.
  6. New tombstones, including veteran plaques, put in must have a 4” cement clearance the whole way around the tombstone base so mowers don’t damage the tombstone when mowing or trimming. Grave headstone footers must be put in the width of the grave and move the footer up into the grave space 3” so the pins don’t get moved while pouring footer.  Pins are already set and must not be removed.
  7. All persons desiring to purchase cemetery spaces shall make application to the sexton who will give full information on the subject.
  8. No deed shall be issued, nor any grave dug, on any space until the purchase price has been paid in full.
  9. Any person desiring to dispose of any spaces must sell them back to the cemetery for the original purchase price or such person may sell it to a friend or relative with the consent of the pastor. If a person decides to dispose of unused grave(s) then the cemetery has the option to repurchase if agreed on by Father and cemetery committee.  A $10.00 per grave transfer fee applies.
  10. Approval of the trustees must be had before planting of trees or shrubbery.
  11. All cemetery prices are subject to change without notice.
  12. All burials must be made in vaults.
  13. One burial and/or cremains per grave, all others must be approved by Father. One exception is a parent and an infant may be buried in the same grave. Other exceptions must be approved by the pastor Refer to deed when buying a grave site.
  14. The cemetery is closed from sunset to sunrise.
  15. No grave ledgers (stone slabs that cover graves) are permitted.

The following is strictly prohibited:

  1. No glass containers or wire to hold containers or decorations of any kind may be pushed into the ground. This is a serious safety hazard and will be removed when detected.
  2. No fencing or curbing of any kind may be placed around graves.
  3. No driving a vehicle of any kind over lots or any part of the cemetery except the drives, without the approval of the sexton.
  4. No landscaping or work on graves without approval.
  5. No plucking flowers or shrubs, injuring trees, defacing monuments and markers, or in any way interfering with the property of another person’s lot.
  6. No decorations to be placed on the ground (DURING MOWING SEASON) from April 1 to November 1 except 5 days before Memorial Day. Any decoration determined to be unsightly or tattered will be removed without regard to the above.
  7. A lost and found area will be designated at each cemetery and any item not claimed after 30 days will be discarded.
  8. No needles or straight pins are allowed in funeral arrangements or grave decorations.
